Pure Ayurveda was established in 1980 under the name Puma Ayurvedic Herbal Pvt. Ltd. This was a joint effort of a learned Ayurvedic doctor and the Kales, a business family from Nagpur, Central India. The mission of this endeavour was to popularise and promote Ayurvedic therapy and high quality products for skin and hair care.

The commercial activity began in 1982 with the launch of two products, a body scrub and a face mask, and exports started in 1984. Each activity is controlled by technically qualified and experienced professionals.Their products are subject to a two-year test period wherein they test these products on human volunteers at the Beauty & Therapy Clinic. Their products are then tested at Laboratories and Universities in their buyers countries to check for effectiveness and reactions on their consumer profile.
