Dr. Paleps Medical Research Foundation is established with a mission to help Ayurveda regain its past glory and status of eminence in the country of its origin and to make it truly an effective therapeutic alternative. Ayurveda is their ancient heritage. Ayurvedic medicines have a legacy of thousands of years of established safety profile based on experimental wisdom. Most of the drugs are herbal and natural in origin. Contrary to the common belief, Ayurveda has a very advanced drug delivery system and concepts based on synergistic action of various ingredients of its formulations. Conceptually, Ayurveda is far superior to modern medicine. Five thousand years ago Ayurveda mooted a eugenic concept of a super baby (Shreshtam apatyam).
Accordingly the objective of antenatal care is birth of a super baby and super citizens for the benefit of a healthy nation. Interestingly Ayurveda has described many newer therapeutic modalities currently in use in modern medicine, e.g. receptor blocking therapy. The use of Dhatura in the prevention of Rabies is excellent example of receptor blocking therapy. Modern research on Dhatura has shown that atropine like action of Dhatura can block the acetylcholine receptors and thereby help in preventing the fixation of exotoxin in them. Propagation dissemination of the knowledge of Ayurveda in modern scientific language through publications, lectures, seminars Tadvidya sambhashas, and CME programs.
